The plant’s owner is the top electricity provider in the state of Texas and is under pressure this week as millions of Texans have been without power for days following a massive winter storm. More than 40% of the state’s energy consumption comes from coal and natural gas, and many experts say that its natural gas infrastructure was not prepared for the cold temperatures received.
