As our research vessel entered the remote bay Aialik Bay near the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, a large flock of birds lifted off of Squab island, creating a dramatic scene. There are actually two different protected areas in this clip, the island the birds are on, which is part of Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, and the giant glacier in the background, which is part of Kenai-Fjords National Park.
