Coming back to the speed side of things during this World Champs after more than a year away felt a bit like uncharted territory- especially during a pandemic when we were not able to have our normal team meetings all together to actually get some connection before the race. But, it felt seamless (and so fun!) working with our speed team again- getting feedback and chatting tactics at inspection with the coaches, course reporting and “good luck” fist-bumps with my teammates, the whole shebang. I have a few people I want to thank for that, including all the athletes on our speed team, but especially our coaches because the time and effort they invest into helping us achieve our goals is awe-inspiring: Jeff, Mike, Alex, Danijel, Karin & PK- thank you so much for all that you do.
