Me too. 🥰🥀 For Valentine’s Day, I wrote a #LoveLettertoNYC inspired by @bookingcom: Dear New York City 🌃~ I believe in your electric heartbeat, in your social nature, in your bright light that has deluded and impassioned ambition and hope in generations of people from around the world, as we have all been or come from immigrants to your concrete jungles where dreams are made of... . You were the city that never sleeps, until now... . The other day I walked through your Broadway district and the exact spot where this photo was taken during the 2019 Tony Awards... I circled that special radius of streets that had become home to me and my community of loved ones and artists, and all your visitors… and at first it was so so quiet. . And then I started to feel the spirit of that sacred nostalgia of generations before us… millions of stories of success and failure paved these streets to make it an epicenter of our globe. And with its emptiness right now, comes the determination and beautiful potential for our home to become everyone’s destination once again. . I hope us New Yorkers continue to support local, to look out for one another, and find a way to fight for the sustainability of an entire industry population of artists... I can’t wait for the day when our home and stages are once again a collective escape and destination for visitors from all over the world in the audience each night… strangers who are friends by story’s end.
