Let’s talk body shaming. During any festive season weight gain is normal, but for us celebrating the Lunar New Year it’s tradition to be scrutinized. Celebrating in Taiwan last year I was cornered by my sister-in-law who shared that people were surprised at how I wasn’t as thin as they thought. They didn’t know I was going though a miscarriage at the time. Now people tell me I don’t look pregnant, like I just ate a burrito, so I am not big enough to legitimize being pregnant. Ladies, this cycle of negativity has got to stop! Our bodies, our shape is not up for commentary EVER. If you see someone who has gained or lost weight they must be going though something and could use a comment like “you look beautiful” instead, no? Let’s continue to spread love for ourselves and others 💞✨
