Born in New York City in 1961, celebrated American photographer Mark Steinmetz has been capturing “ordinary people in the ordinary landscapes they inhabit” since the mid-1980s. From kids and teenagers to summer camps, small American towns, and street scenes in European cities, Steinmetz’s photography captures with rare tenderness, spontaneity, and humour the chance beauty in the everyday. “Mostly I’m interested in people who are searching for something,” the image-maker told @edmeelepercq this week, following the release of his latest title Berlin Pictures.
