At first glance, this butterfly looks like a monarch butterfly, but it is actually a viceroy butterfly. These butterflies "mimic" the monarch, which is like the viceroy, in that it is unpalatable to predators. Therefore, both butterflies benefit from this unique pattern. This pollinator was filmed in Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge, a protected area inside the city limits of New Orleans, Louisiana.
