Back in 2008, the Air Jordan 7 Retro OC ‘Miro Olympic’ drew inspiration from Spanish artist Joan Miró, who passed away in 1984, paying homage to his sculpture titled Dona i Ocell (Woman and Bird). Dropping ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games, the shoe’s inspiration also calls back to the 1992 Olympics Games in Barcelona, where Michael Jordan wore the Air Jordan 7 alongside the gold medal-winning Dream Team and where Miró was born. This iteration combines both Olympic and art history to further the lore of the silhouette.
