After three weeks of living in the European Tour’s ‘bubble’, I’m so thankful to everyone at the Tour who has worked so hard to keep us playing golf. The effort that now goes into making events safe for players, caddies and support staff is unbelievable. It’s a hell of an operation. We basically have a mobile medical lab at every tournament turning around PCR tests for Covid 19 every few hours. Daily health questionnaires and temperature checks are part of every day life on tour. It’s crazy when you see the scale of the operation. The whole thing is led by Dr Andrew Murray, who I think might be a superhero. Despite having a young family of his own back home in Scotland, the Doc has been doing an incredible job leading the Tour through the madness of Covid. He’s one of those people who makes you feel calm and at ease no matter what the circumstances. As soon as you talk to him you feel assured and factually aware of the current situation. So a huge thanks to Doc Murray, as well as Mark and all the people working on our events for making them such a safe environment for everyone! From a golfing perspective, I’m relatively pleased with how the first few weeks of the season went. Me and the core team spent a lot of time in the build up to the Desert Swing bedding in some new equipment, and having played three big events with the new gear in the bag I’m pleased with the progress. The attention to detail that TaylorMade give their players is impressive - they flew my man Adrian out from San Diego to the Middle East to help get my club set-up right! It would have been perfect to get a win early in the year, but to get into contention in Abu Dhabi and Dubai then have a solid week in Saudi was positive. I’m heading to America for what looks like a couple of months of hard graft and big events, so it’s an exciting time from a professional point of view. Looking at my schedule for the next few months is mouthwatering. WGCs, the Players, the Masters...so many massive tournaments against the best players in the world - exactly the level I want to test my best against!」2月8日 22時21分 - officialtommyfleetwood
