Hometown Series — Day 3 of 32: Oakland by @___califia. Commissioned by Apple. “There is a certain level of care and timelessness apparent in my work that is really reminiscent of the Bay Area. I’ve been told repeatedly that some of my images look a lot like Oakland in the 90’s. I’m definitely subconsciously inspired by my childhood, thus my affinity for a 90’s aesthetic. My images are deeply rooted in the Oakland neighborhoods that they’re made in. I don’t ever try to extract, mask or hide that, it’s very much a part of the work.” #ShotoniPhone by Chanell Stone
