Myanmar is awash in weapons, loose paramilitary gangs (armed and propped up by the Army and utilized during the recent genocide) and is deeply, dangerously divided along ethnic and sectarian lines. There are multiple exceedingly vulnerable populations that are now even more desperately at risk, chief among them the Rohingya people, and the NGOs and charitable organizations that had a difficult enough time with the problematic civilian government are seen as enemies by the military for the work they do providing for those populations.
