Wow, what a whirlwind this past month has been!
1.) Tested positive on Jan 2nd for Covid. Isolated starting December 27th after a family member tested positive. Robin and I had 3 negative covid test between then and Jan 2nd, but kept isolating because we didn’t believe the test. Finally, PCR test that I took on Jan 2nd came back positive 7 days later, but already knew I had it because of my symptoms.
2.) Covid symptoms for us were not all that bad, for me it was mostly a bad sinus infection. The thing that was the worse for me is the fact that I’m a hypochondriac and had the worse anxiety the whole time I had covid, thinking I was going to wake up one day and take a turn for the worse! :/
I was panicking while reading news articles every day hearing how young heathy people were not having good outcomes. I thought this could have been our fate. I worked myself up just about every day.
3.) on Jan. 14th, as covid symptoms were not so bad anymore I developed HORRIBLE insomnia.
I slept 1 hour or less on the 14th and 15th and then started panicking that I will never sleep again. It feels like you lose the ability to fall asleep or even nap no matter how tired you are!
This created even more anxiety in my hypochondriac mind.
4.) We got back home to Colorado on the night of the 16th and kept isolating until we got another PCR covid test on Jan. 20th. We knew we were not contagious anymore, but wanted to do our part and be responsible before going back into the gyms.
5.) I started to see Psychiatrist and Sleep Professionals, Psychologist, on the 19th as I still fell like i couldn’t fall asleep. I am taking some meds for the short time to help get some rest, but a lot of them aren’t really working for me yet. As I see the sleep experts to help with my anxiety induced Insomnia, I will slowly come off the meds as I learn more tools to help me with sleeping naturally.
6.) Basically, this has been a REALLY hard time, but it helped hearing others reach out and tell me there stories. It definitely makes you realize you are not alone!!! You will get over this!!! You will be stronger after all if it!!! 🥰
7.) 5 days back climbing after a month of literally 0 exercise!!!
