i owe a lot of success to mixshow djs who have championed me throughout my career.. before music became widely available with streaming apps a lot of these tastemakers in different pockets of the US and all over the world took chances on me on their shows. they usually have an hour or 2 a week to present new sounds and artists to their audience. these djs know their cities inside and out. they’ve taken their passion for finding new music and made it into their careers. late last year I did a zoom with a group of them and was able to catch up with a lot of familiar faces and discuss what its like in todays new streaming and content landscape… ive been very fortunate to have a platform at bbc radio 1 with diplo & friends which is in its 7th year and now with @siriusxm on my channel @diplosrevolution i’m starting a new weekly mixshow to help champion artists whose music is exciting and inspiring to me called Records on Records every Friday at 5pm
