A decade back for my NYU class I asked for these stems to see just how much crazy was in the Wilder/Temperton combo. Man oh man. TRUE Heatwave fans know. But few can really testify to witness the intricacies of what it is—-I mean he made #BoogieNights & #GrooveLine sound so effortless. For my money my fav was the not available til now lp 3 #HotProperty (Rod was doing double duty w this record & Off The Wall same time)—-we live in a “copy paste hurry up & we’re done” lane—-but to HEAR Wilder loop the “bomb screams” at the end of #ThermWarfare a non hit? Throwaway filler? I mean who puts THIS much effort into an album cut that went ignored for 41 years? The true sign of a great artist is how excellent the non singles are IMO.
