The road to get there I believe, is one of the worst in Australia, with mountainous washboard corrugations, and sharp fist-sized rocks littering the road. The 70 odd kms of dirt road took well over 3 hours to navigate. But it was well worth it in the end, with spectacular scenery and perfect clear conditions for astrophotography. This scene here is a blend of two exposures. The foreground was lit by a 10% waxing crescent moon, giving off just enough light to allow me to lower the ISO and to use a smaller aperture for greater depth of field. The stars were shot at a much higher ISO, and shorter shutter speed. I am constantly amazed at the Z 6's performance at high ISO. Having only recently retired my trusty old D200, the difference is more than profound.
