TRUTH: Being a pro skateboarder, unfortunately, is not going to make you rich. There are very, very few people that do not have to work a “regular” job when their skateboarding career is over. For many, because they spent most of their youth crammed in vans traveling across the country skating and staying six to a hotel room, learning very little life skills, the only options they have are 1) try to start a skateboard company 2) try to be a team manager/marketing manager for a company 3) maybe try to get some announcing gigs or judge an SLS. Not a lot of options and don’t get me wrong, there is no shame to those ones. However, being broke sucks, whether you’re a pro skateboarder or just someone who loves skateboarding and works a job and is trying to save money so that maybe someday living hand to mouth isn’t your only option. Whatever the case may be @mikeytaylor was a pro skateboarder for a long time and a really good one and he has spent the last 5 years of his life learning and shaping a new career so that he may help you. Yes you the pro skateboarder. Yes you the fan of skateboarding who works hard for your money but don’t know exactly what to do with it when you’ve saved it.
