Kentucky coffee shop owner Kyle Melvin wanted to do something nice for the first responders in his community so he struck a deal with his landlord Wade Smith: in lieu of Melvin paying rent in January, Smith would allow him to keep that money and extend free coffee for frontline workers for one month. "I don't just want to have good drinks, I want to also be a real part of our community and focus on making connections with all the customers that come into our shop,” Melvin said. “This has allowed us to really capitalize on the mission we already aim to pursue."
