there are no words sufficient for the shameful events that have taken place today in our nation’s capitol. whatever our differences - i am prayerful and i trust that this handful of individuals who would behave in such a way because an election did not go the way they hoped is not remotely representative of this country and this democracy that i love so much. although i am heartbroken that it took this to get there, i will go to sleep tonight holding faith that we are, at least, united in this. 🙏🏻plenty of posts of the ugliness elsewhere, so instead here is a photo i took on the morning of barack obama’s inauguration, 2009.
