En Italia es erróneamente llamada “Befana”, término profano que no tiene nada que ver con la religión católica. (En el folclore italiano, una Befana es una anciana fea que da regalos a los niños de Italia en el día de la Epifanía, como hace Santa Claus) Sin embargo, en España se celebra la llegada de los Reyes Magos y a mí siempre me ha gustado más esta tradición… pero justo esta mañana ha pasado algo que ha desmontado mi idea: mi hija Paola me ha dicho ¡que soy su Befana preferida! 😳😱 January 6th 2021 Today we celebrate Epiphany. In Italy it is improperly called “Befana” a profane word and meaning that has nothing to do with the Catholic religion. (A Befana in Italian folklore is an ugly old woman who delivers gifts to children throught Italy in Epiphany even in similar way as Santa Claus) In Spain people celebrate the arrival of the Wise Men from Middle East in form of magic kings and I have always loved that tradition.
