It’s nice to look back and be reminded that there was good because whew chile... 2020. What a bizarre and surreal year. It required us to lean into uncharted spaces to comfort ourselves and soothe our fear or at least acknowledge it, to be with the stillness and find comfort or to be with the noise to find the stillness. And joy, we had to choose joy. I found joy in things big and small. I chose joy when I could which wasn’t every day. There was and will continue to be pain, frustration, disappointment, loss, and tragedy. But there was and is also love, solidarity, hope, change, and joy. This pandemic is certainly not my favorite version of things. The mess that was made by those in power infuriates me but it also called me deeper into action. May we be kind, gentle and compassionate with each other, and especially thankful and grateful for front line and essential workers who have cared for us and carried us through this unprecedented time. Here’s to a collective sigh and release of what needs to be discarded, dismantled and moved away from as we gather all the good, and move towards a new, better, kinder, safer world.
