See ya 2020 and here we come 2021!! The first shot in the series #swipeleft was this time last year and who knew what 2020 had in store... it started fairly innocuously and the Barkers personally had plans for a new season of Top Photographer and Shaken & Stirred. I even got back on the catwalk in February and strutted my stuff!! Then it all started to unravel... Corona and Covid became the buzz words none of us ever wanted and yet it still seemed temporary. While the numbers of people sick and passing away from the pandemic began to rise, people the world over tried to rally, keep a sense of humor, push through and survive. We locked down in Woodstock and I decided to rebuild our rock walls, I started TIK toking with Jasmine, Jack grew 6” and became a man! As parents we tried to shield and protect our little unit and maintain some semblance of normalcy but with virtual schooling and few friends willing and able to join our bubble it became increasingly difficult. Of course our hats go off to all the amazing first responders, doctors, nurses and emergency workers everywhere who put themselves in harms way to care and protect so many. I remember and still feel guilty and heart wrenched with what this pandemic has done and is doing all around us. This year for the first time ever, we didn’t and haven’t seen my mum, I love you mum. Thank goodness we have a vaccine, now let’s hope and pray we can get it delivered wide and far ASAP.
Clearly our health, wellness and fitness have never been more important and it drove me to combine all my life experiences to help create a new platform called V1VE.
