One day he noticed the reef (his backyard) speckled white - he didn’t know at the time that he’d come across “coral bleaching”. Although they only take up a tiny portion of the world’s ocean, coral reefs contain more than a quarter of all ocean-dwelling creatures & are among the oldest ecosystems in the world. As @toutiess began to research he realized the reefs were dying & there was nothing being done to replenish them - so he took matters into his own hands & founded @coralgardeners ✨ For the last few years they’ve been revolutionizing ocean conservation. He & his team have already planted over 15,000 corals & their goal is set at 1 million corals planted by 2025.
