Era of Ignition came out in paperback in January of this year, before the pandemic, before the anxiety apocalypse of the Presidential election, before threats of asteroids hitting the Earth and George Floyd and Breonna Taylor were murdered. “Era of Ignition: Coming of Age in a Time of Rage and Revolution” takes a look at this powerful moment in our nation’s trajectory where real palpable, condensed, often times uncomfortable change has been taking place, forcing us to confront the way in which we have or have not shown up in the world. It’s a look at my own journey as a woman growing up in the entertainment business and the existential crisis and subsequent rebirth I experienced in my 20’s, while examining this country that I love, which has been going through an existential crisis of it’s own. If you are looking for a good new book that is equal parts manifesto and guide on how to show up in a new way in your activism and in your organizing principle (especially as a white woman), or in your career, or in your health, this is would be a great book for you.
