Nonostante Ballarò is the story of the fortuitous encounter between Francesco Bellina and Antonio Marras through social-networks during the lockdown, but it is also the chronicle of two days in September in which the Sardinian designer and artist met the Sicilian photographer - in the place the latter defines home - and lived with him, in a set that is as itinerant as it is alive, open and real. Nonostante Ballarò (Despite Ballarò) took place in the historic and characteristic neighborhood of the same name in Palermo: it is a project that combines social research and art performance, messes up fashion photography and photojournalism’s standards and approaches with care, respect, irony and no rhetoric to a community and its habits and conventions.
