Update : On the afternoon of the trials last Monday I was squashed between the lip and my board on a solid wave out at Pipe and tore my hamstring along with a black eye and fat lip. I’m super lucky to be getting steady progress day by day and I’ll be definitely paddling out and giving it my best when the contest resumes. I’ve been out of the water aside from having I go in my first heat on the Tuesday. Here’s a clip of the wave and the outcome of getting it wrong at pipe.
