OCR athlete @thomas_ocr gave a more literal meaning to vertical speed than we normally talk about here on Suunto. The ripped South African climbed a vertical rope about the height of the Statue of Liberty in less than 10 minutes, setting a new #GuinnessWorldRecord on the way up for the fastest 50 m rope climb ever: 00:03:19.688. He would have broken the 100 m record, but the rope was only 90 m high.

"It burnt like hell, but it was the best rhythm I could've hoped for and everything just came together," Thomas said after the climb.
