Syren is one of the newest leaders to join our One Outside program and they are already making an impact. Syren suggested that we make our posts more inclusive by adding alt text and image descriptions to make it easier for users who are blind or have low vision to enjoy the content we share. You can learn more about this in their article at the link in our bio. As we dive into image descriptions, we were inspired by this shot from @wildginaa whose writing is as eloquent as her photography. We love how her words perfectly paint an image for all to enjoy. "A cotton candy sunset for you...It feels like you’re on another planet. This location, Badwater Basin, is 282 ft below sea level. And, if you are lucky and you are there when it rains in Death Valley - you can witness one of the most magical sunsets on earth! It felt like I was the popsicle stick in a bubble gum/cotton candy ice pop that I used to get from the ice cream truck as a kid. The air was still and I felt the salt sticking to my skin." You can purchase this gorgeous image from Gina's print shop at the link in our bio (pro tip: buy it on metallic). Image description: Dark hills in the middle of a rectangular image separate the blue sky and pink, cotton-like clouds from the shallow water. The water's surface reflects the sky and makes the bottom half of the image look almost exactly like the top. On the right side, a single person walks in the distance.
