Just a few days ago, Nemonte was awarded the 2020 Goldman Environmental Prize for Central & South America, in recognition of her leadership in her people’s legendary struggle to protect their territory from oil drilling and for inspiring millions around the world to stand up for #IndigenousRights, to protect the Amazon and our climate.
