The skeletal remains of a #humpback whale sits on an Iceless reef, now the home for nesting Gentoo Penguins. This whale was killed and discarded during the whaling oil-rush of the early 20th century, a period in which many whales were hunted to the brink of extinction. This same area in present day is being hit hard with another of human follies, #climateChange. The poles are the hardest hit and fastest changing areas on the planet with no end in sight. The reverberating effects are erratic weather throughout the planet, heat index rise and sea level increases. These are the hard realities of what we’re presently up against and something that needs to be the highest priority of you humanity. Taken on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック @sealegacy
