As an in-demand event producer, #NewYork-based Australian Nicola Filler’s beautiful #ByronBay wedding to native New Yorker Lee Assoulin could only ever be extraordinary. “It was one big family celebration. Lee is a born-and-bred New Yorker, so it was the first time most members of his family met mine. The whole weekend was about relaxing and having fun. We tapped into Byron Bay’s hippie beach vibe and I’m happy to say that everyone loved Byron, just as we’d hoped,” says Nicola. When it came to her dress, she wanted to wear something “simple and modern with a train” and found a Carolina Herrera gown which had everything. “It was so simple and elegant and the cape was the perfect amount of drama for me. I wish I could wear it over and over again.” For a second look, Nicola enlisted her sister-in-law, designer Rosie Assoulin, to make a dazzling two-piece set.
