I don't think I have ever seen so much negative energy on the climbing part of social media. There was too much dispute about the FAIRNESS of the competition in terms of the pandemic. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with a personal choice of not attending. Individuals pulled out due to being scared of the covid19 infection. That is the same as pulling out due to a risk of injury. And this whole lobby about cancelling the event that meant so much for many of us is what isn't fair. Some of us gave this whole year, spent it training, bleeding, sweating, just to grab that last spot. "Going to Russia is too risky" many said. It wasn't any more risky than being in our residence town, walking around, shopping, training, interfering with locals. Literally the same. I would like to thank @russiaclimbing and @ifsclimbing for taking such good care of us. The organisation was AMAZING. A great example of how events are done in such hard times.
