アリソン・ピルさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アリソン・ピルInstagram)「This #givingtuesday I’m highlighting three programs that work with some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. 1.) @panzifoundation has been working with survivors of sexual violence in DRC and trying to end rape as a weapon of war 2.) @womenforwomen has programs that teach numeracy, literacy, and business skills to lift up populations affected by past conflicts. 3.) @waterforpeople comes up with long-term water system solutions for communities and works with local contractors and governments to make the systems sustainable. And look, I think there is real work to be done in terms of the extractive capitalism that allows the coltan in our phones to be more important than human lives on the ground in DRC. There is a long history of enforced corruption, of undermining local governments and disempowering community leaders. And so I struggle to come up with the best ways to help. Because these foundations are working to build grassroots systems that can be maintained by local populations, i think they’re worthwhile. And until we can work out a way to create equitable systems, trying to keep people safe and healthy is important. So today I encourage you to think about how you can affect change, think about the way you consume, think about what kind of ancestor you want to be. And this crazy crummy year has made it incredibly clear that we are all most definitely connected. I’m going to spend the day reflecting on that. Thanks all!」12月2日 0時03分
