アリシア・ウィットさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アリシア・ウィットInstagram)「so happy to have spent some good time in the garden, harvesting before a big rain/snow storm arrives in nashville! i have so many greens still going strong - i was about to cover them before our next few days of deep frost but then i learned that all of these actually continue to thrive until the temps get down to the low 20’s! so for today i just picked, and am cleaning and chopping them to freeze. also going to make some kale chips in my dehydrator 🥬 but - did you also know that brussels sprouts and broccoli leaves can be cooked and eaten? i have so many of those too - only one baby broccoli growing so far, and no brussels have appeared. so i cooked some leaves up with olive oil, @sweetearthfoods vegan bacon, chestnuts and garlic. so delicious i’m gonna make the rest of my batch and eat it right now!! @theimportanceofbeingernesth helped by shredding some leaves, as usual. and! bonus find: thanks to the brilliant identification skills of plant medicine healer and harvester @lotuseye, i now know that i have a bumper crop of #wildlettuce growing where my watermelon was earlier! this is a powerful medicinal plant which ernest and i actually already take in tincture form as needed for pain relief. i’m so excited about it!
