Listen, Read, watch. I am grateful every single day for the breath in my lungs and the abundance of life. For my friends and family, for you all, for my health, for the ability to take each moment as a new opportunity to connect to my higher self; there are actually endless things that I’m grateful for every single day because I am beyond privileged and blessed. I am always grateful to connect with my family for a beautiful meal together especially during this time where we have not been able to spend time that we normally do. However, this is not something we should reserve for celebrating genocide, especially when that genocide extends to this very day. My heart and solidarity is with all Native/Indigenous peoples of this Earth who were decimated by colonization and who’s descendants are still persecuted today; especially the array of tribal nations that made/make up Turtle Island (what we call the USA) I honor you, your ancestors and the descendants of the seven generations to come. They are still here, they are still deserving of their land back and control over the stewardship of it in order for us to actually address the climate crisis we face. The wisdom they impart about life and our connection with everything around us is what deserves celebration and thanks-giving. Some food for thought.
