So when she was faced with the task of planning her wedding in six weeks, she was more than up to the task. “Due to Covid-19 restrictions, my brother generously offered to host the wedding at his house. We wanted an intimate wedding anyway and were worried about the restrictions around venues and the risk of having to un-invite guests if the situation deteriorated,” Julia explains. “My brother’s house has a beautiful backyard with palm trees, a lemon tree and herb garden and our wedding planner had the vision to do an al fresco lunch as I wanted a daytime wedding.” The theme of the day was inspired by her first holiday with her now husband, Adam Lubitz, a romantic 36-hour trip to Rome, complete with an Italian-style menu, table setting and vibe for the day. Having worked for #VogueAustralia and @voguemagazine in New York, the hardest decision was what to wear. “It wasn’t easy finding the right outfit: I only had six weeks, international deliveries were delayed and local stores weren’t fully stocked due to the pandemic, and I was 20 weeks pregnant at the wedding! I have a weakness for sleeves and always prefer long hemlines so when I came across an Elie Saab ready-to-wear look that was exclusive to MyTheresea.com, I added to cart immediately. Luckily, it was perfect: white crêpe, floor-length, fluid in shape, and with dramatic ostrich feather-trimmed sleeves.” The finishing touches were a dreamy veil and a number of special jewels: “I wore an ivory chapel-length veil by Canberra-based bridal accessories designer, Tania Maras. I wore my emerald-cut engagement ring, the tennis bracelet my mum gave me for my 30th birthday, and borrowed my mum’s chandelier earrings, which she wore to my brother’s wedding six years ago. However, I only put these on after the ceremony because it’s a Jewish tradition for the bride to only wear her wedding band, once it’s given by the groom, under the chuppah.” Link in bio to go inside Julia and Adam's Roman holiday-inspired al fresco wedding. 📷 @taligphotography」11月27日 14時31分 - vogueaustralia
