サッシャ・ディギーリアンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (サッシャ・ディギーリアンInstagram)「To me, the only significance that Thanksgiving has is the tradition of coming together and a reminder to reflect and give thanks. 💞 the last months I have gone through some dark valleys and the brands I have the opportunity to call my family have stuck with me; truly through thick and thin. It’s a scary thing as an athlete to tell your ‘employer’ that you will be more or less flattened for over half the year. The uncertainty of not knowing when I will come back to full strength, and the awareness of how much work I’ll have to get there, is daunting. Coupled with an already present sense of imposter syndrome and wondering if I deserve all that I have; if I have ‘done enough,’ or worked hard ‘enough;’ it has been hard. ⁣ When the tragic accident happened to our dear friend Nolan while climbing in Mexico earlier this year, @redbull immediately covered all rescue mission expenses and funded a helicopter to retrieve his body. When we flew back, they had a sports psychologist lined up for me to meet with. When I was diagnosed with hip displaysia and told I needed 4 critical hip reconstructive surgeries if I wanted to continue with my career longevity, each of my sponsors provided the confidence in my career that I did not have at the time. I am coming up on 10 years of being on the @adidas team; 9 years with @redbull, 11 with @petzl_official , 10 with @protecathletics . I have had the privilege to work with new brands in the recent years as well 💞 ⁣ I was recently asked how I make a living from climbing. It is by these brands that believe in me and that did believe in me when I was a teenager. Thank you for your uncompromising support 💛 My career began prior to the boom of social media, but obviously this platform has enabled me to be closer and connect with so many people around the world. I would be remiss in not saying thank you to absolutely every one of you that follow along my journey and provide such light, positivity, and kindness. ⁣ 2020 has been a challenging year, but I have a lot to say thank you for this year as well.
