There are so many nerves everytime I tackle Turkey day. My cookbook is my Go to for this meal of meals! It’s also nostalgic to go back and see all the pictures of friends and make my favorite recipes. Today, I cooked a 14lb brined, herb buttered turkey at 425 and tented with foil after 20 minutes. I then forgot to turn down the oven so it cooked for an hour at 425. Then I turned it down to 325 and cooked for another 2 hours and 15 minutes. It was great! The wine in the gravy is a must. I subbed chicken sausage for pork in my stuffing and the pumpkin pie is already gone. Another must is fresh whip. I make a ginger snap crust, and I find it easier and tastier than a normal pumpkin pie crust. Okay-the TV is calling!
