Surf's up? 😳 😳 😳 In his work, conservation photographer Thomas Peschak strives to show humans and animals living in harmony — like this surfer swimming alongside a shark. While on assignment, he often sees sharks, manta rays, whales and other sea creatures that have been killed or destroyed by humans but he's learned that documenting their deaths rarely moves people to protect them. Instead, what works is taking photos that show the playful side of these animals. “I always operate on the assumption that the next great picture that will affect change is right around the corner, behind the next coral head, inside the next lagoon,” says Peschak.
