So we basically booked as soon as we could and this date was the first in November available at the wedding registry!” Despite the ups and downs that came with planning a wedding in 2020, Ava chose the theme of “fun” to inform her big day, which was edited from a “big 130-person celebration to a 40-person intimate wedding in Red Hill to a small micro wedding lunch of 15 guests” in the CBD. “We organised a Zoom link for immediate family and our closest oldest friends—and set up a tripod in the registry office,” Ava says of how they virtually included friends and family in their day. “It was so good to have them there, even just via a screen. My parents (who are divorced) watched together at my mum’s house and then went and had lunch with Dion’s mum, brother and sister-in-law.
