これからも宜しくお願い致します🙇🏻‍♂️ I'd wondered for years what this moment might feel like. What emotion might eclipse the rest? Joy? Relief? In a particularly rare moment, I find myself at a bit of a loss for words. For many years, the issue of nationality has been a constant worry in the back of my mind, at practices, competitions, silent moments looking out an airplane window, during a busy night out with our friends (God I miss those). A pressure always permeated my progression through the years, a deep fear that the underlying narrative of my career in sports would be determined by difficulties outside my control. A terrifying premonition that maybe I was good enough but came up just short of my goal because of my nationality. I am so honored and humbled to announce that as of today I am officially a Japanese citizen. I am also Olympic eligible for the first time since beginning my Ice Dance journey. I want to thank my beautiful wife and the brightest star in my sky, Misato, for all these years together. There's no one else I'd rather be on this journey with. I want to thank our coaches, from those that brought us together, to our fantastic and supportive coaching team in Montreal, to Rie and Cathy, who have held us together in moments when we thought everything might fall apart. Without the blessing and guidance of our IAM coaching team and the overwhelming support of Rie and Cathy and our sponsors here in Japan, we never would've been able to make our dreams come true. I cannot thank you enough. I will do my best to qualify for the Olympics and bring the best results possible back to my family, friends, coaches, and my country. Thank you so much.」11月19日 14時46分 - timkoleto
