Thank you for the birthdays you never missed to the family gatherings you contributed towards. Thank you for being a tough cookie, and thank you for having an open home to so many in need. You are a queer black women who showed me it was okay to be a gay black man in a world that tells you the opposite. Margo, you didn’t only raise your brothers and sister, but you raised a generation of strong Individuals and even though you physically may not be here, I can not muster up the anger because I’m so honored to have experienced you. I want you to know I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I never knew a struggle as a child because of the strength you’ve instilled in my mom, you taught her well, and you should be proud. I know she is indefinite. Over time I’ve experienced you go slowly. I wrote what came to my soul for life to cherish, but death is just a transition. We all will go through this someday. I honor you, and I celebrate your life. I want you to know that we are just getting started. I know you were welcomed by so much love from the family we’ve lost.
