We drove so many kilometers, walked so many hours, slept so little and filled quite a few memory cards with awesome memories captured along the trip! Here’s one from by far the most photographed spot in the Rockies; Moraine Lake. I couldn’t believe how it became that popular over the years. I remember going there over six years ago without even worrying about getting a parking spot there...now if you want to get a sunrise photo of this absolutely awe inspiring location, you’ll need to push your butt out of the bed at 3:45 in the morning and make sure you are there by 5:00 because otherwise you are gonna miss your chance! The parking fills so fast from 5:00 to 6:00...it’s crazy when you consider that the suns goes up at like almost two hours later at this time of the year. I wanted to get my shot so I did get up early. So what do you do when you get there two hours prior to sunrise? You shoot stars! I didn’t get the shot I was looking for because of the smokes coming from the many wildfires in the US but I do have to admit that I really liked the mood added by those said smokes! Here is a selfie shot...oh man, the struggle to run to that spot in less then 10 seconds...the 10 seconds timer was my best friend here as I forgot my wireless remote at home...😂 This image was focus stacked in order to get all details into focus and I did one additional shot with myself standing on that tree. The whole scene is so breathtaking that even after hearing my camera shooting, I just didn’t want to get down that log! It was one truly memorable momrning! Shot on my @canoncanada 5DSr and Canon EF 11-24 f4.0 at 16mm, 1/10 of a second, f11 and ISO100. The starry sky was shot a little before and blended into my final image. Hope you enjoy it!
