On Tuesday 4 August, a catastrophic explosion tore through Beirut, leaving at least 100 dead and more than 4,000 injured.
Coping with #mentalhealth in the midst of this catastrophe, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the economic collapse has proven a challenge for many. This group of young people from all over Lebanon shared their thoughts and feelings all while encouraging others to speak up and let their voices be heard.
“Do not be afraid to talk with others,” says Adam El Hassan.
“Being sad is not wrong, crying is not wrong, feeling bad is not wrong,” says Yara El Cheikh.
“Try to discover yourself before discovering others. Love yourself before others,” says Carl Costantine.
“What is wrong is that I am not taking care of my feelings and not even thinking about them,” says Ghia Haddad.
Their common message: “It is okay, not to be okay.”
