SPELLさんのインスタグラム写真 - (SPELLInstagram)「This is @dixie_crawford, she’s a Barkindji Woman, and to be frank she’s a bit of a powerhouse. I met her in June, I’d reached out, drawn to her forthright No-BS way of telling it how it is. I thought ‘who is this woman, I want to learn from her?!!’. After a single conversation I signed up to her ‘Allies in Action’ Leadership workshop, a 10 week deep dive into unpacking the impact of racism, privilege and power in Australia, into how racism and unconscious bias plays out in our country. Those 10 weeks were profound for me - confronting, difficult, messy and totally uncomfortable, but profound. It largely guided the beginnings of our diversity and inclusion journey, embarked on and emboldened in June this year. To anyone out there who wants to SEE and BE change in their organisation/community, I can’t recommend this course enough 🙌🏼🖤 It will stretch, encourage, and hold space for you to move through the toughness and mess of confronting our white privilege and white fragility so we can lean in with courage, care and curiosity to have transformative conversations. Dix pushed us (often kicking and screaming I’ll admit) to critically self-reflect on our role as leaders and pushed us to explore the barriers that stop us from talking about race. One of my fave aspects of the course was how Dixie facilitated insights into the lived experience of Aboriginal People and communities by introducing us to some of her incredible friends also doing huge work in this space, it was a privilege to listen and learn from these people (looking at you @8983aj @leboy___ @missashlee.d) 🌿❤️💛🖤 This isn’t a sponsored post, I just wanted to share about Dixies work - It’s NAIDOC Week and what better time to amplify the voices of those we respect and have learnt from throughout the year. Living and working on what was and always will be, Aboriginal land - means trying to be a better ally 52 weeks of the year. Head over and sign up to her email list, her wisdom couldn’t be more valuable right now, as so many of us are listening and learning and wanting to show up. xx Lizzy 📷 @davidhahn_photography .」11月15日 10時25分 - spell
