The Motley Crue bassist hopes to be a leading voice for addiction recovery in his new hometown.⁠ ⁠ Sixx spoke with the News&Guide in September, National Recovery Month. His sobriety has made him an advocate for recovery. He’s spoken on Capitol Hill and with international news outlets about addiction and recovery, and penned high-profile op-eds on the same topic, including one in the Los Angeles Times in which he lamented the country’s response to the opioid crisis.⁠ ⁠ Sarah Cavallaro, executive director of Teton Youth and Family Services, which serves teens struggling with addiction, invited the collaboration, and could see Sixx serving as a “role model.”⁠ ⁠ “It’s not easy for young kids to have people they can trust and look up to, especially when they’ve had the rug pulled out from underneath them,” Sixx said. “If somebody doesn’t give them a hand and pull them out of the hole, sometimes they just don’t know how to get out, bro.”⁠ ⁠ Read more by @bllyarnold at the link in our bio.
