Screwing around in the kitchen today and we came up with this sloppy joe recipe.
2lbs ground beef
1 cup SF ketchup @ghughessugarfree
1 cup raos tomato basil
1/2 tsp brown mustard
1 green bell pepper diced
1 /2 red bell pepper diced
1 med onion diced
1 tbsp ea @Flavorgod Seasonings garlic lovers and ketchup seasoning
1 tsp onion powder
6 tbsp swerve brown ( you can use 4 if you don't want it as sweet )
Heat up that cast iron y'all !!!!
1) While your skillet is heating up , dice all your veggies . Once heated, throw them in to get em tender. Sprinkle with @Flavorgod Seasonings ketchup seasoning and some pink salt and peppercorn.
2) Take veggies out and into a small bowl when done.
3) Brown up the burger. Sprinkle some @Flavorgod Seasonings garlic lovers on while cooking..
4) While the burger is browning, add the ketchup, @raoshomade tomato basil, brown mustard, brown swerve, and spices to a med bowl and whisk all together. Then add the vegies and fold into the sauce. Let sit.
5) After burger is done, drain in a colander. Add a bottom full of sauce to the skillet, burger back in, the rest of the sauce on top. Mix to combine and simmer for 20 mins.
You can serve traditionally on a low carb bun right away. BUUUUT.... We opted to do things a bit different 🤣
We added about 3 cups of shredded cheddar to it, mixed it in and let it melt. Spread it out on a parchment lined sheet pan and put it in the fridge to set up. Cut out circles with a cookie cutter.
1) We cut 7 1/2" circles of cutdacarb with a cereal bowl upside down.
2) Lay a circle of the sloppy joe in center.
3) Egg wash the outer edge. Lay another circle on top and seal the edges.
4) Fry in hot oil and done.
