I’ve been tracking it and it’s been sitting in the post office since last Thursday. A few people messaged me to say that New York State has a rule that after mailing an absentee ballot, you can still vote in-person. Your in-person vote will just void your absentee vote. I looked it up and it’s true! I decided to go to an early voting site in the East Village at 2:30pm today. I was prepared to wait for hours. I had my phone fully charged, an extra battery, a book and snacks. I told Mike I wasn’t sure if I would be home for dinner. He thought I was crazy but I went anyway. Well... There was literally no wait! The polling place was full and busy, but they kept everything moving and the whole thing from line to scanner took about 15 minutes. I also confirmed the NYS rule about in-person voting after voting absentee while I was there. This is not the case everywhere so check the laws in your state before trying this. If you live in the East Village, do not let pics of long lines scare you! It was not the case here. The location is at 611 E. 13th St. and is open both Thursday and Friday. There is even a group of people from the World Central Kitchen handing out free burritos to everyone who votes! Easy and a free meal! Please tell your East Village friends! Vote early! Vote in person! VOTE!!!! I feel so much better now that I know my vote is officially counted.」10月29日 11時35分 - mommyshorts
