Merckx began his professional career in 1965 and from 1968 on raced with Italian teams. He rode many different brands of bicycle, but he always demanded they be equipped with Campagnolo components. “The Cannibal” had 466 successes in 13 years of professional activity, almost 1 victory every 2 weeks.
