Trump blaming high Covid rates on blue states and shrugging off any responsibility is a display of his poor understanding of statistics and gross negligence rooted in revenge. We all live on this earth, we are all a part of this country. Can we normalize saying that I, a person who has never experienced flooding or hurricanes, worry about the livelihood of those who experience those regularly, or about whether the air is also clean enough for those who identify as Republicans? Or that you worry about populations at risk of contracting Covid even though you’ve gotten it and have recovered just fine? Can we normalize simply caring about the wellbeing of others despite what team you’re rooting for? This isn’t a high school sports game we’re in - real lives are at stake.
