During confinement I stood in my little window and watched the sky change colours every morning and every evening. I started to get to know familiar faces in the windows surrounding mine. I even waved to one guy, about my age, every time we reached out of our Parisian apartments and clapped for the essential workers and hospital staff every evening. It made me feel better knowing that even though I was by myself, I wasn’t alone in the situation. Even though it’s been months since then, I find myself standing in my window looking up at the sky every evening and every morning, to watch the sky change colours and to see if I can see any of those neighbours that became familiar faces during that time. I haven’t seen them since. But watching the sky change colours have become sort of a ritual whenever I’m home. And it gives me some sort of calm and comfort in these weird, weird times 💫
